This is such an emotional topic. We need to remember we do not need to say vaccines are completely good or completely bad but consider their usage. I feel that today vaccines represent a prime example of "Magic Bullet" thinking. They are put forward as the solution to many disease concerns. Dissenting views are culturally discouraged. One has only to mention the name Dr. Andrew Wakefield to have anyone questioning vaccines quivering in their boots not to mention worried about their job security. I find there are an increasing number of credible voices daring to consider aspects of the science around vaccines. In a truly open society this sort of discussion should be allowed.Probably there are many more questions we could ask. I have found the ideas presented in each of the links below add reasonable points of view to the conversation:
The website Med Science Research (medscienceresearch.com) connects you to thousands of scientific papers showing concerns with vaccines.

The work of Dr. Peter Abby seems to exemplify the vaccine issue. Dr Abby has worked with health clinics in the West African country of Guinea-Bissau since the late 1980's. He was involved in introducing their vaccine program and has been involved in documenting their results since. He has found tremendous success with the MMR vaccine in this West African situation, but issues with the DPT vaccine. Dr Abby is a strong advocate of vaccination but when he dares to question the efficacy of one vaccine in this particular population he becomes "controversial". Why? Dr Abby and his team have observed 2 anomalies which need further research. The first is a different gender response, particularly to the Vitamin A shot they use at their clinic . They found girls had a 40% increase in mortality while boys saw a slight advantage. The second is that there can be "non specific affects" of vaccinations. In this case they found that the MMR vaccination stimulated the immune system of his population protecting them from diseases beyond what they are designed for. This youtube interview with Dr. Abby at the European Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Disease presents these ideas. In this short youtube interview he mentions a concern of his about much of research done today.
In late 2019 this article was published in Science News DK which is a news site published by the Novo Nordisk Foundation of Denmark. This foundation focuses on supporting medical treatment and research. The article discusses the observations of a Danish vaccine researcher, Professor Christine Stabell Benn over 40 years. She has seen both very positive and negative responses to particular vaccines. Her experience is worth reading about.
I think further that there could be a different response to vaccines in different cultural groups, most likely as a response to the different microorganisms being present in the guts of different populations. The microorganisms in our guts are inherited primarily from our mothers particularly through vaginal child birth and breast feeding. Vaccines are acting on microorganisms in our gut which play an important role in our immune system.
In April 2017 I watched a documentary series on line entitled"The Truth about Vaccines" which was presented by Ty Bollinger. There was a range of information presented there. For parents attempting to find answers one book mentioned stood out for me:
The Vaccine Friendly Plan: Dr. Paul's Safe and Effective Approach to Immunity and Health-from Pregnancy Through Your Child's Teen Years . This book was written by Paul Thomas, MD, a Pediatrician in the United States and Jennifer Margulis ,PhD a journalist and daughter of the biologist Lynn Margulis who I mention a number of times in No Magic Bullet. In this you tube talk entitled "My Message to the World" Dr. Thomas and Jennifer Margulis present their book. Dr. Thomas has produced a PDF document with his suggested vaccine schedule.
In 2019 the vaccine Gardasil, developed to combat human papilloma virus (HPV), is coming under some scrutiny. A few countries including India, Japan and Columbia have changed their usage after concerns were raised by their medical communities. This vaccine is presently before the courts in California.
The most thorough documentation of concerns seems to be done by Dr. Deidre Little an obstetrician from Australia. This is a short interview where Dr Little discusses her discoveries.
A more thorough opinion piece was published in the British Medical Journal in 2018.
A major concern with vaccines are adjuvants which are chemicals often heavy metals which increase the absorption of materials in vaccines in the human body. One common adjuvant is aluminum. In this you tube talk Dr. Christpher Exley, a British biologist who has spent 30 years studying aluminum discusses the use of aluminum in vaccines in a talk entitled. "The Systemic Toxicity of Aluminum Adjuvants; a general mechanism of vaccine induced injury"
The Vaccine Papers is a website which presents published vaccine concerns. This is helpful for it is often difficult to get the attention of the medical community when you mention vaccines. I found the video talk of Dr. Humphreys found on this website interesting.
The Children's Medical Safety Research Institute (CMRI) conducts ongoing research related to vaccine safety. They have created a pamphlet entitled Vaccine Dangers in PDF form which can easily printed. This group also keeps a blog which you can subscribe to allowing you to keep abreast of emerging research.
The Neural Dynamics Research Group at the University of British Columbia in Canada has been researching the causes of neurological diseases.A number of their published research papers implicate the use of aluminum which is found in a number of vaccines. Access to their studies is found on their website. This article discusses the vaccine controversy and shows a picture of the two main scientists at UBC , Lucija Tomljienovic and Christopher Shaw.
Children's Health Defense is an organization chaired by Robert F. Kennedy Jr. which is seeking open and transparent behavior in the scientific community, an examination of public policy and more.
The Foundation for Alternative and Integrative Medicine (FAIM) initiated a new section on their website with their May 2015 newsletter. They present a range of pros and cons..
Dr. Stephanie Seneff of M.I.T. has been presenting some very interesting ideas on vaccines. In this youtube interview she explores her observations as a biologist and statistician.
In this youtube talk Dr. Mercola discusses vaccines with Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride. Dr Campbell-McBride practices medicine in Britain and has developed the GAPS diet. She advocates testing a child's immune system before deciding to administer vaccines
The website Truth In Media has an interesting expose on information which had been not included in a research publication published by the American Center for Disease Control (CDC) proving the safety of vaccines. Ben Swann presents a range of researchers who present the idea that vaccines are like any other medication and have an expected range of side effects. This seems a more honest way to present vaccines.
The Institute of Science in Society (I-SIS), a British institute with a focus on the intersection of science, society and sustainability has developed an article detailing recent updates explaining concerns with the MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) vaccine.
"The Greater Good" video is available for live streaming . Their website contains further information related to vaccines. This video brings forward many viewpoints on the vaccine issue and allows for honest discussion.
