Jon Kabat Zinn I discovered when considering stress reduction. He and his wife Myla have co authored an excellent book on parenting entitled "Everyday blessings: The Inner Work of Mindful Parenting" which is published by Hyperion. This book gives parents and those involved in supporting children as they grow up, food for thought.
Alison Gopnik, a developmental psychologist and philosopher at the University of California, Berkeley, draws on the study of evolution and her own research to consider parenting. Gopnik published a book entitled " The Gardener and the Carpenter" in 2016. She has given a Ted talk entitled What do babies think? which introduces you to her ideas. Alison Gopnik likens parenting to creating an ecosystem where a child can thrive and sees this being an important role of the parent.
